Ceres Zip Slides

Ceres Zip Slides offers one of the best zipline tours in South Africa.

Experience 1,4km of pure adrenalin Eco Adventure, consisting of 8 slides varying from 100-290m in length. This Eco-Adventure is safe, fast and long. The tour takes place in the Schurweberg Mountains below the Koekedouw Dam in Ceres.

The Experience

This “foefieslide” adventure is situated in the lovely mountains surrounding the Ceres Valley. A mere 1½ hours’ drive from Cape Town, it is the perfect breakaway from the hectic city life!

You will be kitted up in a full body harness with state of the art equipment and then 2 fully trained guides will take you on the Zipline tour into the mountain. Price includes a drink during and after the tour.

After being kitted up, you will hop on our “Zipslide taxi/bus” and we will transport you a short drive (about 5 km) up into the mountains! On the drive down the main road and through suburban Ceres, you will get a feel for our lovely town before we head up into the mountain.

From the drop off point, a short walk takes you to the departure point at the first slide, from where the breath-taking view reaches over the town of Ceres and across the Ceres Valley. Here the fun starts!

The slides vary in lengths from 100 meters to 291 meters! The highest point above the ground is 40 meters. The duration of the tour is group size dependent.

They operate in all-weather circumstances, and don’t have any group size limited, and children from 3 years old can take part in this amazing adventure.

The main office is situated 1 Voortrekker Street also known as the “Natuurtuin” at the foot of the Michell’s Pass at the entrance of Ceres town from Cape Town side. (R46)

They are open every day of the year from 9h00 to 15h00 (weekdays) and 8h00 – 15h00 (weekends). During peak seasons they are open later. Tours depart every hour. Bookings for weekends and for the last tour of the day are essential.

Cherry Picking at Klondyke Farm (Ceres)

You pay an entrance fee per person and receive a container – indicating what a 1kg more or less looks like, which you are welcome to fill to the brim with delicious ruby-tinged or sunkissed yellow cherries.

Between picking, take time out to explore the picturesque orchards and, when you’re done, have your container weighed at the farmstall.
Card facilities available.

You will be welcome to come have a picnic – there’s no better way to spend a summer’s day than enjoying the “fruits of your labour” under the cool shade of a pine tree.

It sometimes gets pretty windy on the farm, so remember to bring a warm jersey or windbreaker.

The farm is open every day throughout the season (Nov/Dec each year – varies)

Klondyke Cherry Farm (Ceres)

Situated 30km from Ceres town in the Koue Bokkeveld, Western Cape, you can find Klondyke Cherry Farm – we are a real (pet friendly) cherry farm giving you the opportunity to pick-your-own cherries during cherry season, have fun in the snow during the winter months or just relax any time of the year in one of our three self-catering cottages or lovely open campsite.

We offer three cottages that are fully equipped for self-catering. We supply duvets, pillows and towels, crockery, kitchen equipment and utensils. There is a stove and fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster in each kitchen. There are heaters in all the rooms, and electric blankets on all the beds. Each cottage has an inside fireplace and an outside braai. There is no TV available.

We will provide firewood and firelighters for your first night in one of our cottages. Additional firewood – R25 per bag to be paid into the “honesty jar” please.

We also have a campsite with 8 electrical connections, water points and two ablution blocks. Braai drums and picnic tables are supplied.
